Proud suppliers to Salisbury Foodbank

Since Sept 2022, Salisbury Foodbank have been offering people the additional healthy extra of a fresh fruit and veg courtesy of us, Central Fruits!

We are incredily proud to support this important local charity. We love doing our bit for the local community. It’s important to give back, something we’ve always endeavoured to do as a company; helping those less fortunate.

Now the Salisbury Foodbank want to expand the number of people who can benefit from their brilliant and much needed scheme.

As a key partner to Salisbury Foodbank, Central Fruits has been instrumental in overcoming logistical challenges to supply fresh produce beyond the standard food parcel. The fruits and vegetables are delivered directly to those in need.

Doing our bit for the community

At Central Fruits, our vision has always been more than just being a supplier of fruits and vegetables. When Salisbury Foodbank approached us with their long-standing goal of offering more than their standard food parcels, we jumped at the opportunity to help. Despite their efforts, they had encountered various challenges like the need for additional storage, enhanced food safety measures, concerns regarding stock rotation and wastage, as well as logistical issues like transporting cool boxes.

When they reached out to us, seemingly at a dead end, we were more than ready to lend a hand. The Foodbank provides us with the names and addresses of those in need, and we take care of the delivery.

Our collaboration enables us to provide these essential services free of charge to the recipients. Plus, we’ve given the Foodbank a significant discount for both the food and the delivery service.

We’ve successfully piloted the program in three locations and are thrilled about our plans to expand this service to all Foodbank centres in 2023. It’s a milestone that brings us immense pride as we contribute to the fight against food insecurity, turning challenges into opportunities for community support.
